The retail end of your salon business is just as important as the provision of services. And, with a usually larger margin for overhead, tight controls are needed to ensure a healthy profit margin. Things such as product returns and movements from back bar or demo case can sometimes create inaccurate total counts. Because correcting these counts requires time, it’s best to keep strict control of inventory.
Fortunately, the SuperSalon Point of Sale solution comes equipped with dozens of helpful reports that greatly assist in maintaining accuracy of counts, highlight missing items and track a product’s movement from initial order and receipt to final sale. These reports can be found in REPORTS> RETAIL MENU as well as REPORTS> PRODUCT REPORTS.
Here are three popular product reports found in SuperSalon that can help you maintain accurate inventory counts.
- The Inventory Report
This quick and simple report displays your entire inventory and the movement within it. This report features a truncated format, but clicking or tapping any column drills you down to more detailed information on individual products. - Retail Sales Statistics Report
Tracking the number of sales and returns of individual products can provide answers when physical counts don’t add up. The Retail Sales Statistics Report breaks down all product sales by employee and shows their ticket percentage of retail sales as well as returns processed. - Return Ticket Detail Report
This report gives a roster, broken down by customer, of all tickets that carry returned products. The Daily ID of the ticket is easily referenced, as is the reason for the return. And, like the two previous reports, this report can also be found in REPORTS> RETAIL INTERFACE.
The majority of reports in both SuperSalon and iOffice were inspired and created by people with real-world experience in the salon environment. As a result, they are designed to be easy to use and understand.
