Last week, we told you about consolidating and merging customer data through the tried and true method using SuperSalon’s utilities. This week, we present a more modern take on the same procedure, available since SuperSalon’s 5.6.5 release. Users of earlier POS releases will want to refer to last week’s tip while users with later releases should refer to this tip.
Users of later SuperSalon releases will find these steps even easier and faster.
Step One
When performing a customer search, enter the name of the profiles you’d like to merge in the search bar. In the example below, Bob and Robert Dobbs are the two profiles that need to be merged into one. We do that by clicking or tapping the MERGE button located in the lower right.
Step Two
When clicked, the MERGE button takes the user into Merge Mode, shown below. From here, you can select each profile that will be included into the merge and click NEXT to continue to the next step.
Step Three
The next step in the process is to decide which profile will become the master record. This will be the profile all others are merged into.
Step Four
You’ll now be able to review any changes that may need to be made to the master profile. Changes such as new phone numbers and other information can be confirmed on this screen. When changes are all complete, simply click SAVE.
Step Five
After saving the master profile, a notice will appear to confirm your changes have been saved.
With this simple process, it is extremely easy to maintain a clean and accurate customer database that is free of duplicates.
