One of the most powerful and intuitive tools in the SuperSalon point of sale is the Inventory Manager. Over the years, this feature has been honed and improved with input from our valued customers. With it, your staff can perform inventory functions from complex transfers to simple product counts. This article will show you each section of the Inventory Manager and explain their functions. Our examples shown are from the new 5.8 version of SuperSalon salon management software.
Where to Find the Inventory Manager
The Inventory Manager can be located in the Products sub-menu of the Manager tab. Our example below shows where, in the upper button array, you can access this feature.

The Action Buttons
Shown below is the SuperSalon Inventory Manager without any operations currently running. The action buttons on the left side of the interface determine which inventory task is being performed.

- Receive
This operation is used when new products have arrived at your location and need to be added to the store’s inventory. - Adjust In
Quick adjustment to an inventory count that involves adding a product to the total counts. Up to 10 different reasons can be used for this operation. - Adjust Out
This represents adjustments to inventory counts that involve subtracting products from the total counts. - Transfer In
This allows you to transfer a product into the main retail inventory and remove it from back bar or other locations. - Transfer Out
When a product needs to be taken out of inventory and placed into back bar or another location, use this button to facilitate the move. - Count
This button is used whenever you wish to perform a raw inventory count of all products in your store.
Instructions on how to complete these operations are displayed directly on the Inventory Manager interface, with each task consisting of the following steps:
- Selecting the product to work with
- Choosing which action to perform with the product
- Selecting the description (for reporting purposes)
- Entering the appropriate numeric and revenue details
- Updating the product
All of these tasks can be completed with great efficiency and accuracy by using a hand-held scanner. And, SuperSalon supports that function right out of the box.
