Like many others who ply their trade in the service industry, salon staff are dependent on gratuities for their livelihoods. Much like how salon owners depend on a dual revenue stream of product and service profit, salon staff are dependent on their own in the form of wages and client tips.
Being such an important part of their income, stylists and other beauty professionals are understandably concerned about how they are managed.
This article will go over some of the ways that SuperSalon excels in tip management. Whether it’s through top-notch reporting, or through the use of our integration with ADP Tip cards, SuperSalon helps its users set salon staff at ease in knowing that this aspect of their income is being handled accurately and fairly.
Flexible Tipping Options
Among the large number of settings in SuperSalon, tipping has its own section located in Software Settings > Sales > Tips. From here, users can tailor just about every aspect of tipping from how they are tracked and managed, to how they are prompted and factored into the nightly close out numbers, and more.
With all of these options to choose from, tipping can become as automated or as informal as the salon owner prefers. This flexibility goes a long way towards making sure salon staff are getting there fair cut of the location’s gratuities.
Accurate Tip Reporting
SuperSalon comes with some very robust tip reports right out of the box, and also gives users the ability to create their own customized ones in iOffice. Three of the most popular out-of-the-box reports for tipping are:
- Tip Adjustment Report: This report is located under the “Payroll” section of the greater Reports menu, and shows all adjustments made to tip amounts over the course of a given timeframe.
- Tip Detail Report: This is a report that monitors tips for individual days, and shows all of the gratuities that have been paid out for that business day.
- Mini Tip Detail Report: Generated from the receipt printer, this gives salon staff a hard copy tally of all of the tips they have received for that day, and can be set retroactively as well.
ADP Tip Cards
This extended feature is offered to SuperSalon users through our partnership with ADP. With it, locations can have gratuities and tips automatically sent to a secure debit card in the salon employee’s name. The initial rollout of this extended feature has been incredibly successful, and comes highly recommended by salon owners who use it.
