At times, your salon can experience a high volume of traffic and a busy stylist could enter a repeat customer as a new one. Though this isn’t an issue for SuperSalon, it could potentially create confusion for locations that use customer points systems. Having duplicate customer profiles can also affect the integrity of reports and other audits.
In order to prevent any issues triggered by duplicate customer profiles, we recommend training your staff to take the time to search for clients using more than one metric. If the phone number doesn’t come up, encourage your staff to try using the last name, first name and so on. Doing so will help cut down on duplicate entries.
To manage duplicate profiles already in SuperSalon, we’ve provided an easy to use utility that consolidates and merges. Getting to it is easy.
Click or tap the SETUP tab and then the UTILITIES submenu. The button for the Customer Merge utility is highlighted in blue, as seen here:
Clicking or tapping this button will put you into the utility’s interface. Here, you can see the Customer Search Form shown below. From here, you can enter the client’s name and up to three different phone numbers. It’s usually multiple phone numbers that cause duplicate profiles, so we’ve included work, home and mobile fields to help narrow down your search.
After entering the search parameters, you will then click or tap SEARCH FOR CUSTOMERS to bring up a list of all clients who share that same metric. From there, you can select each instance that is a duplicate and merge them together by selecting MERGE SELECTED, highlighted in blue below:
When completed, the merged customer profile will contain all phone numbers and accurate contact details.
