As tempting as it may be to stream music in your salon, it’s never a good idea to do so from the same PC where your SuperSalon software is installed.
The right mix of music creates a warm and welcoming ambiance for your customers and keeps them engaged as they wait for their stylist. But, in the interest of safety and continued operation of your point of sale system, we have a word of friendly advice:
Keep music streaming off your SuperSalon PC and keep your data safe.
Online streaming music and multimedia sites (such as Pandora, Spotify and Jango) can constitute a security risk in certain circumstances and should never be installed or used on any PC that houses customer or business data. Rogers’ support department has seen a variety of issues that could be directly attributed to the use of such sites.
Everything from data loss, malware infection and even failed PCI scans are potential threats when your PC’s ports are left open for streaming content.
So, if you feel like getting into the spirit by playing music in your salon, we strongly recommend using a secondary PC, laptop or mobile device instead. You’ll eliminate the risk of security breaches and ensure that your operations are trouble-free.
