SuperSalon allows salon owners to configure any method of payment they would like to use. From cash, checks and both integrated and standalone card methods, to any number of ways your salon receives revenue. This article will provide the step-by-step process for creating a new payment method by using a gift certificate as our example.
From the Setup menu, enter the Payment Methods sub-menu by clicking or tapping its name on the left column. The Payment Method sub-menu will look very much like the example below.
Click the Create New Payment button, located in the middle array, as shown below.
Enter a unique name into the Code field. This code determines how the payment method appears in various sales and production reports found in SuperSalon. Our example below shows SP Gift as the code name for this new gift method.
Next, select the type of currency this new payment method will be based on. SuperSalon allows for integrated and standalone card processing, any number of gift methods and even ‘other tender’ For our example, we will select Gift Cert, as shown below.
In the Description field, select a unique name for the payment method as you would like it to appear in the Payment screen. This determines how SuperSalon displays the payment method when a ticket is being settled. Our example shows Special Gift as a description for this new method.
The next three check boxes determine whether or not a memo will be required when this payment method is used. The memo is entered by the staff member creating the ticket and SuperSalon gives the option of having that memo appear on the client’s receipt. By keeping these blank, the memo is not required when creating the ticket.
The final step in creating our payment method is to save it into SuperSalon by clicking the Save Payment button, shown below. The new payment method appears immediately in the Payment screen of SuperSalon when new tickets are processed.
